Mike DeMarino, Higher Education Growth Consultant, Tyson Group

 

Mike DeMarino works with leadership teams in higher education to exceed revenue targets across athletics, advancement, and admissions. He brings a sales performance discipline built in professional sports to the enrollment, fundraising, and ticketing teams that colleges and universities depend on for growth.

Mike’s point of view is that everything is teachable with the right attitude, commitment, and plan. It’s the standard he has used to build sales teams for two decades, and it’s the standard he brings to every campus he works with.

Before joining Tyson Group, Mike spent twenty years in sports and entertainment sales, leading commercial sales teams for everything from start-up leagues to billion-dollar arena projects. Most recently he was Vice President of Projects at Elevate for six years, where he led the XFL’s commercial sales effort to outpace competing leagues in revenue by three times and sold through 90% of UBS Arena’s premium inventory during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier roles at Legends, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the New Jersey Devils, and the Atlanta Hawks round out a career spent building the teams that drive the number.
